Titled, "All will be forgiven," this brooch was inspired by local Montana political events. The piece illustrates the artist’s amazing fabrication and color skills when he works with different metals to make a single piece. He painstakingly cut pieces of silver, copper, and NuGold to layer them into this intricate design. The raised blue portion of the brooch required a hand-made die form to complete. The piece features 4 independently applied enamel coats and casting which adds to the brilliance of the piece. The background is a delicately cut piece of silver. The highlight stone, carnelian, had been found in Bronze Age Minoan layers; this use dates to approximately 1800 BCE. Romans used engraved gems for signet or seal rings for imprinting a seal with wax on correspondence or other important documents. A truly unique piece that could also be wall mounted in a shadow box frame.
